Happy 2022 my people! It’s been quite some time since I sat and wrote here, but I am so ready to get back into it. This past year I hit the ground running with HPM Designs and couldn’t be happier with how the year turned out. Thank you from the bottom of my heart to those who continue to support my company…It truly means everything to me, so THANK YOU.
Today I’m discussing some 2022 design trends that I believe we’ll be seeing all year long! I have five major trends to go over so stay tuned!
Oversized Materials: I believe we’ll be seeing A LOT of this in 2022 and I am so here for it. I love the oversized look especially now that most our homes have this grand “open concept,“ which is beautiful, but must be scaled correctly. Larger pieces in your home can not only fill the space, but bring a sense of modern warmth.

Pattern on Pattern: Pattern is something I am very excited to see throughout the year and incorporate into my own projects. In the very beginning of my design career I remember playing it safe; I wanted to make sure nothing clashed and was safely beautiful…Not anymore! I’ve learned so much this year from other designers and think it’s so fun to take some risk with pattern and create a custom look with wallpaper and different textiles.

Neutral/Warm Color Palettes: I think this neutral, white, light oak vibe is here to stay. We will definitely see more color, pattern, and texture incorporated, but the bare bones will stay neutral.

Lots of Texture: Give me allllll the texture! I love a good pillow or chair that offers some texture and I believe we will see a lot of this in 2022. Layering materials adds so much depth to a space. Also, I think we'll see a lot more texture in places that aren't very common such as window treatments, wooden elements, etc.

Handmade Materials: I don’t know about you, but one of my favorite trends to come out of last year was all the Zellige tile we saw and I think it is here to stay! The classic subway tile got enhanced by this handcrafted Zellige tile (artisan made) which instantly warms up any space. The natural color and texture variation makes everyone fall in love.
